How can we lose weight?

 

 

Obesity is caused by excessive calorie intake and/or unhealthy lifestyle habits. What kind of food is good for lunch?

 

 

During lunch, eat small amount of foods to feel moderately full. As noted, overeating may cause slower or no contraction of stomach muscles, eating smaller amount is highly recommended. Eat food no more than your cell-phone size! If you can eat least amount of food at lunch without feeling hungry or tired, you may replace your lunch with eating Yedam's dietary supplements.
Stay away with sweets, fried foods and meats. These foods transform easily to fat. Avoid eating cold foods such as cold beverage, soda, or ice cream and cold fruits such as melons, watermelons, apples, etc, because these foods slow down body digestion.

 

Does fasting help to lose weight?

 

 

Fasting may help to shed pounds quickly. But, fasting is not a healthy way to weight loss. If we fast, our body slows down its metabolism and preserves fat-stores to survive on a greatly reduced calorie intake. This can lead to weight gain when the fasting finishes. Lose weight safely. Avoid fatty and fried foods such as instant snacks or junk foods. Eat healthy foods (i.e. protein or fiber rich foods) such as fish, whole grain and vegetables. Daily protein intake is important when dieting to make sure not to lose muscle tissue. Eat protein rich foods such as low-fat red meat, skinless chicken, eggs, tofu, milk, etc.

 

Is exercise necessary for weight loss?

 

 

Yes. Average calorie intake of an adult man is 2,500 kcal per day, while the total daily calorie expenditure is 2,200kcal: 1,500kcal for basic metabolism and 700kcal for daily activities. Thus, the excess 300kcal should be burned through other physical activities or exercise. The faster you walk, the more calories you burn. Normal walking consumes 6kcal per minute, while fast walking burns 10kcal. To burn same amount calories, walking requires at least 50 minutes, while fast walking only needs 30 minutes. Of course, these extra calories will become body, fat unless they are consumed. Thus, moderate or mild exercise such as power walking (for 30 minutes ~ 1 hour per day) helps to boost bodily activities and increases energy and consumes body fat. Although exercise is helpful for weight control, excessive exercise, which requires more energy and nutrition and increases appetite, may not increase metabolic activity and thus increase body fat.

 

Does 30 minutes walk helps to lose weight?

 

 

Yes. ¡°Power walking¡± for 30 minutes is very helpful to lose weight. Power walking is a form of exercise consisting of rapid walking accompanied by vigorous swinging of the arms. Besides walking, you can do other exercise such as ping-pong, basketball, jogging, rope jumping or any other physical activities you like. If you do not exercise, you may not only fail to reach your weight goal, but also regain weight induced by yoyo effect. If you are too busy to work out, try to walk any distance within 3km. Try to use stairs instead of elevators. Walk at least 7,000 steps per day.
