In late Chosun dynasty about 400 years ago, a monk with a name Saam invented an acupuncture native to Korea after studying and meditating in a cave for 13 years. It is reported that Monk Saam mysteriously cured and treated numerous patients with this method of acupuncture at that time. Saam's acupuncture significantly differs, in principle, from that of Chinese in terms of the methodology and theory.

above mentioned, into a methodology treating each individual with different prescribed acupuncture based on his or her own constitution.
Constitutional Pulse Diagnosis
In order to perform SCA, it is essential to carry out Constitutional Pulse Diagnosis (CPD). Unlike the conventional pulse diagnosis, CPD is a unique pulse diagnosis that applies several compresses to a wrist to diagnose one's constitution. CPD may accompany a certain degree of pain in the wrist.
SCA
Once the patient's constitution is diagnosed, the acupuncture is administered under the prescription of SCA on the spots of the body that have no direct connection with the body parts in pain, like lower parts of joint regions of limbs. From this aspect, SCA differentiates itself from traditional Chinese acupuncture that performs its treatment mainly on the body trunk or the body parts directly in pain.
Efficacy of SCA
SCA may be slightly more painful than the conventional acupuncture, for it is administered on the end parts of limbs. However, the pain is bearable enough for a child to stand. The efficacy of SCA is greatly powerful as a result of the leverage effect.
Energy Controlling Acupuncture
While an extended treatment of conventional acupuncture makes one feeble or exhausted, SCA avoids such negative effect by controlling the energy, rather than stealing it, thus making itself more desirable for persons in a weak physical state or the aged.
Outstanding Efficacy on Various Visceral Diseases Overall
The treatment range of SCA not only covers pain-related ailments, but also extends its coverage to various visceral diseases overall resulting from visceral malfunction.
Treatment Period
Treatment period of an identical disease may vary, depending on a patient's physical condition or the seriousness and stage of his or her disease. Some benefit by a single treatment, but the usual case is that it takes effect two to three days after the treatment.
Treatment Combined with Medicine
In case the effect is unclear after over seven acupunctural treatments, it is recommended to administer herbal medicine together with the acupunctural treatment since the medical condition seems serious and not likely to improve with the acupunctural treatment only.
To Maximize the Efficacy of Acupunctural Treatment
During the treatment, the effect of acupuncture can be maximized by minimizing the bodily movement. For instance, it is imperative that one rest by not tiring out the body, especially the aching area. Walking or sitting for a long period of time, overworking, or excessive use of aching area, even if necessary, may worsen the condition. It would be wise to take a pause in exercising for some time to maximize the effect of acupunctural treatment.
